lessons and impressions

Life is made of them, and this weekend was full of them.
Briar has wrestled for years, and has had to work very hard. He placed in tournaments a lot when he was younger, but has struggled the last few years. This year has been a great year for Briar. He sat many goals at the first of the season and accomplished ALL of them.
* He wanted to win more matches than the year before, did that, only lost a few the whole year.
* He wanted to place at tournaments. Did that including 3rd at Payson
* He wanted to place at Region. Did that 3rd place.
* He wanted to place at state. Did that 5th place.
Goals were made, and pretty much accomplished. Some had to be readjusted but still a huge accomplishment.
It is a reminder that goals can still be met but there may have to be a few tweaks along the way.
example:
Briar really wanted to take 1st at State, and was well on his way Friday. But had an off day on Saturday. He got caught in a silly mistake and got pinned. And it really threw Briar. He struggled to bounce back along with a few other things. Aaron and I tried to help Briar see that even though he had missed his first and second goal for state, he still was going to place. He just had to decide if it was going to be 5th or 6th place. He had to decide and let the other matches go, they were done and he needed to regain focus. He then decided and took action winning his next match putting him in 5th place. Towards the end of State, Briar had a few dads approach him and tell him how great he did and that they were getting worried for their boys to wrestle him. Coaches were impressed with him and said that he had wrestled outstanding.  Briar became more uplifted and started to recognize more of his accomplishments. I think he learned a lot about himself and what he can do if he puts his mind to it. It let Briar know that you don't have to be #1 to be noticed and make an impression on people. As long as you go out and do YOUR best. We are so proud of him!
~*~
Taylor also once again made her impressions on me as a GREAT sister. She sat in those stands for two days and not only supported her brother, but felt every emotion with him. His upset was also hers. I am so glad that she is such a understanding and loving sister.
~*~
Cloe was also very patient and good the entire weekend. She made many impressions by being such a good girl. xo
~*~
I think Aaron and I are also learning many lessons as we take the many journeys with our kids.
It is very tough to manage a 5 year old for long hours and keep any patients but I am managing and we are both still alive.
I am learning to hide some of my emotions at times so they don't see, and keep a positive outlook on their situation. to help them recover. that is VERY hard for me.
Aaron has been a great support to our kids and a great role model to them.
I am so very grateful for my husband and children and the bond we have. I hope it will stay strong and continue to grow throughout all it comes against.
We have tried to teach our kids to stick to their commitments and standards and work hard and then they can achieve anything.

fridays confessionals

I have to admit this is kinda fun.
Who knew hanging it all out there would feel so good?!
And I love reading all of yours.
So... here goes.
I can be pretty corny. especially around my kids.
This morning I put on their dads work boots (which by the way drowned me)
with my comfy Jammie's and a messy pony and jokingly asked them if I could walk them to class today.
the boy said " A NO!!!" and the girl giggled and said " Sure! if you DARE" .
I make up out there songs and stories in the truck with my 5 year old.
I scream at the stupid drivers when I take my kids to school in the mornings.
seriously do they not know how to use a 4 way stop, or read road signs.
I am very forgetful lately.
I am getting sick of winter. come on spring
I cried yesterday when I had to call Aaron to help me fix my sewing machine.
Hello I am the GIRL I shouldn't have to ask HIM for help with that stuff. should I?! UGH!!!(love him)
My 5 year old is always telling me "you owe a quarter in the jar". oops!
My husband spoils me! even when I don't deserve it.
well... there we go I feel a little better now.
enjoy and play along

REALLY?.........

I'm so overwhelmed and frustrated but actually have NO time for either!
.
Grades! UGHHHH!
Taylor was doing so good earlier this year.
Now....
Not so good. actually only in 2 classes.
I wish she could see the potential in her self that her teachers and Aaron and I see in her.
We keep telling her, but she doesn't quite get it yet.
Someday! soon I hope.
But still.
I have to say that she is not happy. We took phone and computer away till they are up.
Torture for teens now days!
(best, fastest and most effective Way to shape kids up now days!) lol
No time for homework, don't wanna read, and DRAMA.
Yet....
They can read texts all night!
UH NO!
So now we get to play catch up!
And this week just keeps getting busier.
Today alone we have :
early out
parent teacher conf.
softball cond. 1hr.
wrestling prac. 2hrs.
softball open gym. 2hrs.
all one right after the other.
REALLY?!
When is dinner and family time?
.
.
I want a hot relaxing bath and comfort food! lol
 .
On the up side:
Cloe is getting better at her ABC recognition and writing.
And is pretty computer savey. (I don't know if that is good or bad?)
And the sun is trying to come out!
.
Time to open all the blinds and finish house work.

So I'm leaving you with a SMILE!

Region..

Was AWESOME!

My Briar wrestled his stinking butt off.
He took 3rd at Region at 93 pounds.
This is Briars first time to place at Region.
He had to wrestle a kid from Roy who is one of the top wrestlers in the state.
It was a great match.
Briar only lost to by 2 points,
and almost PINNED him.
After the match Briar and Conner were talking and he told Briar that when he had him in the scissor he thought that he was gonna break his ribs.
AND.....
he almost tapped OUT!!!!!
Briar was so stinking happy!:)
In wrestling thats a good complement.
Tay happened to get a pic. that shows exactly how that looked.
(ignore the blurr)
OUCH!!!!!
*
Here are a few more pics. from the day.
*
First match was from Fremont.

 Briar won by pin!
*
Second match was From Logan

Briar lost by one point.
Come to find out it should have been a tie and went into overtime, or he should have won by one.
The score keeper didn't get all Briars points when he got the escape and take down.
:( O well.
*
Third match was from Roy

Briar lost by 2.
Awesome match!
*
Fourth match was from Bear River

 Not yet....

NOW!
Won by pin!
 *
I am so Proud of Briar and all his hard work and Extreme dedication.
It is hard work being a wrestler.
Training physically and mentally,
very looong days at tournaments,
making weight every time (sometimes pounds),
being stretched and pulled in different ways,
and that's just some of it.
And as said by my nephew Cody (Senior wrestler this year)
"I don't know how you guys can sit here all day"
me " It's called LOVE!"
So........
Here is to Love!

 Supportive sisters!
 Loving moms!
*
And Team Mates that play together

 WIN TOGETHER!
Jr high took home FIRST place,
And
Middle school took home SECOND place
 *
Now lets do it again next weekend at STATE!
Way to go Box Elder!

* k maybe I smother?
* I am TERRIFIED for my baby to go to school next year.
* I LOVE a clean house.

* again smothering?
* I used to bath my baby everyday and get her ready every day.
* I am over weight and HATE it.
* working on that
* I push my kids real hard to be their best always.
* I have a hard time sleeping without the t.v. on.
* my mind won't relax unless it is distracted.
* I can't stand to not shave pretty much every day.
* I call my husband at work ALL the time
* I know bad, but I need to hear his voice and opinions.

I think I feel better now. I said it out loud.
or wrote it for everyone to see.

Smarty Pants!

Briar came home with this yesterday and told us that he is in the top 25% in his school for academics.
That's so exciting.
But.
.

.
You know my Briar,
happy but now wants to be in the top 10%.
Isn't he funny.
Anywho,
if he keeps it up all 3 trimesters he gets to attend the breakfast of champions at the end of the year with his parents.
Go Briar, Go Briar, Go!!!!
whoot whoot!!!

Building forts with ALL my dads wood and nails,

Pretty Fun and A good workout! Even when you aren't dancing, you are burnin from laughing at the others.
Every time Aaron got up it picked the FUNNIEST dances.
We had loads of fun.
Tay doesn't like dancing with Aaron, he is to crazy and gets in her way. lol
Cloe kicks some butt, and hates to loose.
(I wonder where she gets that from?!)
No pics. this time, maybe next time.

Tonight was another crazy busy night with kids and sports.

I am so PROUD of their hard work and dedication.
Briar had wrestling practice, which he had to do wrestle offs for his varsity slot. Happy :) to say, he is still varsity.
Good Job Briar!

Then right after Taylor had open gym for softball.
She did very well and is way excited to train and condition with the girls.
Hoping she makes the high school team. :)

And Cheerleader Cloe got her very own Box Elder Bees shirt made by mom and dad. (pictures later)
So now she can show her support for Briar and Cody at wrestling tomorrow against Mt. Crest in STYLE.

goals....

I have many, many goals for 2011.
One of them is to update the board my sister made for me every month.
So here goes..
(hopefully they will improve as I go)

Today the kids went back to school, And tomorrow Aaron goes back to work,
then... it's just me and Izzy again.<3
Bring on the CRAZINESS!!!!!
So much to catch up on and start on.
Starting more of my goals tomorrow hopefully they go well.
I always seem to set them but never finish them.
But I feel better about them and more driven to accomplish them than ever.
MAYBE... It's maturity!? lol
As much as try not to grow up OR get older I think I am.
maybe its not to bad.....
as long as I remember to stay young at heart.
AND....
Always play with my kids. :)
